About

Bent Creek Books is about great reads, authors, and a book club that has been together for 10 + years. (yes, way before Oprah) We have gone from strangers to friends that now travel together, go to movies, visit with authors for insights and autographs, and do other stuff around town. The only thing in common in our backgrounds is we love to read. You will see, when you meet us.

We do our best to never miss book club every month.

This sight is about great stories, sharing stories and how we pick great stories.

Our club has a history of picking new authors and books that go viral ….so stay tuned for some great picks and reviews.

We take our club seriously:

  1. We have to read the books before we recommend to the club
  2. The recommenders rotate monthly and bring 3 books for a vote to read and review the following month
  3. Minutes are taken and published, and a book list is maintained; including the “not chosen” which is quite a list as well.
  4. The Dessert is always super fantastic, served with de-cafe of course.

About My Membership:

I joined the club when I was working as a Senior Sales executive for a Fortune 500 firm, and had just moved to my new home town and did not know many people outside of the office. Fast forward to today, I have recently joined a new firm – the thirst for knowledge the group instilled in me, has provided me the inspiration to do things I have not done before- like , well, this!

We look forward to sharing some incredible books , and our discussions about them, with you. Please join us!

  1. Are you an author? We would love to have you answer our questions about your process and have you guest post! Please reach out through a DM on twitter @debbiejbrown or direct to debbie.brown303@gmail.com

  2. The absolutely WORST thing about being in grad school – besides doing going back to school at 50++ with diminished brain capacity to match increased life experience – is missing Book Club. When we get out of class early on Wednesdays, I’ve been known to fly down Ga 400 to make it to Book Club an hour late.

When I go a couple of months without seeing the girls, I feel so cut off! And, I miss having time to read the books and being able to discuss the ones I do read with everybody.
